Medicare enrollment period
Like most Medicare options, enrollment in a Medicare Advantage plan is limited to specific times of the year. If you are new to Medicare and want to join a Medicare Advantage plan, you may apply for coverage three months before, the month of, or three months after you become eligible for Medicare Part B coverage. This is called the Medicare Initial Election (or Enrollment) Period.
After this time, people with Medicare generally must wait until the next Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP) in order to make a change to their Medicare insurance coverage. The Medicare AEP begins on November 15 and ends on December 31 of each year. In certain cases, people with Medicare are allowed to make changes to their coverage at other times of the year. Please contact us for more information about these enrollment periods.
We hope you feel more informed about the Medicare program and the Medicare Advantage health plans offered by ESSENCE Healthcare. In the next (and final) section, we’ll provide you more detailed information about the specific plans available to you. In order to ensure that we offer a plan in their area, we will need you to provide the zip code of your primary residence on the next page.
